Students join the student body of Les Roches Jin Jiang Shanghai as young people and graduate as young professionals. At the graduation ceremony in July 2011, 96 students from 16 provinces and 15 countries embarked upon a new stage of their working lives.
Each graduating student enjoyed an average of 3 job offers upon receiving their Diploma in International Hotel Management; opportunities which were highly welcomed at this transitional time in their careers.
The students had a total of 12 months internship work experience in their portfolios before even graduating, as the educational program combines academic theory with real internships in the industry in Asia or further afield. Here students gained credible transferrable industry knowledge and practiced the business skills and hands-on learning skills that they were taught at Les Roches Jin Jiang.
With their internship experiences fresh in their mind and the demand for highly qualified staff from the industry, graduates were welcomed by 5-star hotel industry hiring managers. They will progress into attractive positions within hotels, wellness establishments, resorts, health and fitness clubs, restaurants, cruise ships, and travel agencies among others. The prospects available are extremely broad and of course, internationally located with the benefit of well-defined career advancement pathways.
A selection of employers that frequently recruit graduates of Les Roches Jin Jiang are Westin Hotels & Resorts; Renaissance Hotels & Resorts; Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group; Fairmont Hotels & Resorts; Marriot Hotels, Resorts & Suites; Hyatt Hotels & Resorts; and Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts. There are many opportunities available for LRJJ graduates in Asia because these young people have a strong understanding of Chinese culture and can speak at least a basic level of Mandarin, which gives them competitive advantage against others.
Graduates who work for an international hotel chain or company often have the opportunity to transfer to a 5-star property in another continent or country after succeeding within the company in their first position.
