On 25 of May 2012 Government of Russian Federation confirmed the list of foreign Universities, which Diplomas will be recognized in Russia without additional examination. There are 210 Universities form 25 countries in this list.
The main part of the Universities in the list is U.S. Universities (66) and British Universities. Also there are 13 German Universities and 11 Chinese Universities in the list. Experts also included there Universities of Singapore, Denmark, Japan, South Africa, Italy and other countries.
Graduates of the Universities, which are not included in this list still have to examine their Diplomas for further study and work in Russia.
The procedure called evaluation, costs 4000 rubles takes from 4 months and needs a lot of references and papers to be gathered.
In March 2012 the former Minister of Education Andrey Fursenko offered to admit automatically the Diplomas of foreign Universities, which are in 3 leading educational rankings – World University Rankings, Shanghai ranking and in the list of research company Quacquarelli Symonds. A month later an agreement was signed according to which graduates of the universities which take the first 300 positions in Academic ranking of World Universities, QS World University Rankings and The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, shouldn’t confirm their Diplomas in Russia.
